Plot:  Barry B. Bee isn’t sure he wants to live as a hive bee.  He goes out of the hive and talks to a human who saves his life.  Through this friendship, Barry discovers that humans steal their honey so he decides to sue the human race.  After winning his lawsuit, all the flowers start to die because the bee have so much excess honey they don’t need to produces anymore.  Barry and Vanessa head to the Rose parade in California and hijack a float and fly the flowers back to New York for the bees to re-pollinate all the gardens.

Theme:  Follow your instincts.  Changing even the smallest detail can have far-reaching consequences.

Good Points:

• Animation is very vivid.
• The movie portrays “life as a bee” very well.
• The subtle humor connects with adults.
• The battle between Barry and Ken is funny.

Downfalls:

• Ken is a little over the top.
• The outcome of the case was a little “doom and gloom.”
• The main plot: “Bees saving mankind” is far-fetched.

Buy/Rent/Skip:  Buy: this is an animated movie that the entire family will love.  The subtle humor will engage adults, while the vivid colors and storyline will keep children interested.  If you are a fan of Jerry Seinfeld, this movie will not disappoint.
